Greenwood – Services for Dr. John Hendrix
Machledt, 71, retired physician will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Wilson – St.
Pierre Greenwood Chapel. Calling will be from 7-9 tonight. Machledt who died Tuesday at his home
practiced in Whiteland from 1937-65 and Greenwood from 1966 to 1976 when he
retired. He was a staff member of Johnson County Hospital. He was a member of
the Indiana and Johnson County Medical Society. An undergraduate and medical
school graduate of Ohio State University, Machledt completed his internship at
Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He was a member of Greenwood United
Presbyterian Church where he was an elder, deacon and Sunday School teacher. Survivors: wife Gladys Watts Machledt, son
Dr. John H. Machledt, Jr; stepsons, Larry, the Rev. Charles McDaniel and
